Sunday evening we had dinner at my parent's house and we brought the kids bikes over for a quick pre-dinner walk. I have fond memories of taking Sunday evening walks with my family growing up and it was fun to do the same with my kids too. Will and Lauren were happy to show off their ever-improving bike and trike riding skills.

We are taking a trip to Washington DC next month and will need to be in good walking shape as we are not renting a car. Monday morning I decided we were going to walk to library story time to test the waters. The library is exactly 1 mile from our home. While things didn't go as smoothly as I had hoped, we did make it there on time. Barely. And the kids didn't complain about the walk home either. We've tried to take at least a one mile long walk a day since.

The first thing Will does in the morning is check the baseball scores from the night before.

We finally got around to checking out Mill Creek Park Wednesday afternoon. The kids loved it! Will rode the zip line over and over. It's fun to see him be more adventurous. Lauren ate some raspberries I brought for a snack and part of the berries smeared on her face. Other kids kept thinking she had blood on her face, and I didn't have any wipes to clean it off, so my attempts to clean it just made it look worse.

Anthony and the kids participated in his office's Take Your Children to Work Day for the second time on Thursday. Will and Lauren were probably the most excited about waking up early and riding the bus downtown. He and his co-workers did an awesome job of planning a fun day for the kids. I had a great day too! After dropping them off at the bus stop I took a walk, had a dentist appointment, went visiting teaching, drove downtown and had lunch with Anthony and the kids, then spent the afternoon cleaning.

We woke up incredibly early Friday morning, like 3:15am early, to catch our flight to Florida, but by lunchtime our kids were playing in the ocean for the first time. I've never been good at vacationing, planning trips or spending money, so I was a bit stressed about whether or not it would be worth it to go. But seeing the excited, giddy looks on my kids faces as they splashed in the water was all I needed to feel good about it.

Day 2 on the beach. We spent a few hours at the beach midday Saturday and had a really great time. I can't get over the fact that my sister lives less than 10 minutes from the beach.

You've got that "hot pregnant mom on the beach" pose down! I'm glad you guys had fun. But man, 3am wake up call! The things we do in the name of traveling...
Glad you found the park! Isn't it the best? Call us sometime when you are going and we'll meet up!
