Will's lips have been a bit chapped recently so we have been putting vaseline on at night before bed. He prefers a fairly liberal application, but then wipes it off pretty quickly. I try to sneak back in and put more on after he falls asleep.
Monday was unseasonably warm and we spent a lot of time outside. Of course I was too busy basking in the 70(!) degree weather to take any pictures of us enjoying anything outside. I did snap a picture of Lauren's pigtails. This is a relatively new 'do for her. Will says she looks like Sadie (her cousin). I think she looks grown up.
After our beautiful Monday the clouds rolled in Tuesday. We played on our back porch for a few minutes after breakfast and headed in quickly when it started to rain. It was a little disappointing to see the weather change so quickly, but it is January so I'll leave my complaining to a minimum.
Will has this new thing he likes to do after he gets out of the bath. He has us wrap a towel around him in a style he calls his "prince robes." He asks for it now every time he gets out of the bath and sometimes in the evening before bed.
Lots of baths this week. Sometimes I give the kids a bath just to change up the routine when things are getting ugly. Ugly=lots of whining, see Friday's photo. Like her brother before her, Lauren enjoys drinking the tub water. She thinks she is hilarious when she does this, but still rejects water in a sippy cup or bottle.
This is things getting ugly. The poor girl has some seriously puffy gums. I feel like I've been mentioning this for a long time, but it is still going on. I hope those teeth will cut through and give her some relief soon. Luckily this wasn't the entire day. And don't think I am mean for taking a picture of her while she cries. I was snuggling her before this picture was taken (and Anthony was serenading her on the piano) but she dove out of my arms.
This picture tells a lot of stories. First, Will's crazy hair. I will confess that I didn't even try to tame it today, but the first thing I did when he came into our room this morning was laugh at its body. Second, Will is "cooking." Cooking with Will is an adventure because he likes to be very involved with every step of the process. Also, he wants to add all the ingredients at once. Third, Will is making chili, which we now call Willy Chili in hopes that he will eat it. For the record, he did not.

I've had to do the same thing with Bennett, only it seems to be his chin that is all chapped.
I hope Lauren's gums are better soon!
Clarke wants me to ask Anthony who he thinks of when he sees shiny Vaseline lips? Hint: seminary.
Same vaseline story over here... darn Winter! Also, I love that last picture & the Willy Chili story.
I am not sure. I was the one who was struggling through a strong round of accutane. I had to use some vaseline myself. But I am very curious who Clarke is thinking of. I went through each student, and I got nothing.
Sometimes I want to copy your approach to blogging because then I wouldn't get stressed out about how/when to post. But then I know I am lazy and would get behind by a month. I guess what I am saying is, I like your weekly posts of each day.
And your kids is pretty cute. I never appreciated how adorable pig tails are on little girls until the first time I put Sadie's hair in them.
