2013 :: week 15
Sunday evening we took a post-conference walk around the block. It was the first time we let Lauren walk that far by herself. Anthony ended up carrying her for the second half of our walk, but I was surprised at how far she was able to go by herself and that she only tried to run in the street a few times. I guess she was too busy trying to keep up with her brother.
Lauren loves to "help" while I do the laundry. She loves to play games while I load and unload the clothes in the washing machine. Her favorites are knocking on the glass to "startle" me, putting her hand up for me to "touch" through the glass, and shutting the door on me while my arms are inside.
We've been watching FNL off and on for the past 6 months and we finally watched the series finale Tuesday night. When we first started watching we would often watch a few episodes a night, but towards the end we slowed down quite a bit to drag it out. When the introduced the new cast members in season 4 I wasn't sure I would be able to like them as much as I liked the originals, but in the end I did find myself invested in them too, though the originals are still my favorites.
Wednesday was my last turn to host preschool. We talked about rhyming words and I put together a rhyming racing activity to do in the backyard. Of course it rained, so we had to do it indoors. Here the kids are being small with their balls.
Thursday morning we hoped on a plane and headed to Boston! It has never really sunk in to me that Boston is so close to the Atlantic Ocean. All things considered, the kids were pretty great on the flights there, other than Lauren insisted on having her own seat. Luckily Will still fits on laps pretty well. Both kids passed out soon after we arrived and got decent naps, so our trip started off on a really good note.
Friday Doug and Tina (Anthony's parents) took us to the children's museum. The first room we checked out was the bubble room. Will absolutely loved it and could have stayed there much longer than we let him. Lauren slipped and fell within the first 2 minutes, so she wasn't as into it (the floor was really slippery). The elements of the bubble room were really pretty simple and I think I will try to copy some of them this summer for the kids.
One of the things Will wanted to do in Boston was ride a subway train. He has a picture of one in a book and I think Caillou rides in one too. Saturday we went to a Red Sox game and we decided that would be the perfect time to ride the T. Unfortunately they were doing some work on the line we wanted to take, so we were shuttled to different stop via bus. The shuttlebus took at least twice as long andwe ended up being late for the game. But we did get to ride the T, so Will was pleased.

Love the picture of Will taken through the bubble! So artistic. We miss you guys already, and wish we lived closer. Here's hoping you get all of your energy back soon! Love you guys.
