A few months ago Anthony saw a billboard announcing the BYU men's basketball team would be playing in the CBE Hall of Fame Classic at the Sprint Center the week of Thanksgiving. Naturally, we had to go. And invite/encourage as many of our friends as possible to come too. TJ pulled a group of 27 people to get seats together.
The kids in the group took advantage of the empty rows around us and spread out. There was serious dancing going on and some well-deserved big screen screen-time.
Will enjoyed sitting with some of the older kids in our group.
Lauren had fun sitting with our good friend, Bailey.
Santa, aka my Dad-with-a-beard was there too. He brought some binoculars that the kids loved using.
We lucked out and got to watch a really fun game. The last few minutes of the game everyone was standing as the score was close and it could have gone either way.
Worth remembering:
- The school bands didn't travel to the tournament, so they hired local high school bands to play. The band and dance team they hired for BYU was from KCK and slightly more ethnic and edgy than the Cougarettes I remember.
- Will told Anthony he had to go to the bathroom with about 90 seconds left in the game. There was a timeout and Anthony put Will over his shoulder and ran to the bathroom. Due to timeouts and fouls they made it back just in time to catch the last minute of the game.
