Elliott has been using an old flip phone of Anthony's and pretending it is his phone. He often tells me he is texting his friends and Sunday morning he asked me to take a selfie with him. I tried to take a selfie of us on my phone taking a selfie on his phone. He also listens to music on his "phone" and "looks at pictures."

Monday was a busy day! The older kids started their weeklong summer school "Mini-Musical" class in the morning. I did six loads of laundry. Monday is my laundry day and I typically do 3-4 loads. Between all the towels we use for swimming and getting the rest of our trip laundry cleaned I was working on it most of the day. In the afternoon Lauren had a birthday party for her friend Saffi, Will had a piano lesson and then a playdate with his friend Ben at his neighborhood's pool. Anthony had to run a few "bishop's errands" and I took Elliott to the pool and visited with Emily and Stephanie. After dinner and the kids were in bed Daniel stopped by to say hello.

Daniel is an assistant coach for the BYU Women's basketball team and was in town for a few days to recruit at a tournament. The kids were happy to have an excuse to stay up a little late to say hi to him. Anthony and I had a great time visiting with him. There is never enough time to visit with our siblings and their spouses.

We went to the free lunch Wednesday after the kid's theatre class. Chicken sandwiches are a hit with the older kids. Elliott is very particular about what he will eat but he loves the milk, juice and fruit sides.

It was extremely hot this week. The temperatures were in the high 90s all week, with the heat index well over 100 degrees. I ended up getting a bad headache and had to spend more time than I would have liked resting. Thursday evening we went over to our neighbors house for about an hour. Usually our kids play together outside but it was just too dang hot! Our kids had fun climbing on their huge chaise lounge, wrestling and dressing up as superheroes.

Friday we got to see "Go Fish!" the play the kids worked on this week. All of the kids were different fish and each fish's personality was influenced by its name. Lauren was one of four seahorse, which were the cowgirls of the sea. Will was a clownfish that told jokes. I was so proud of them! They delivered their lines loud and clear and sang the songs and did the dances. Well, Lauren did the dance moves. Will had his hands in his pockets during the opening number which made it hard to do the hand movements, but he loosened up as the production went on.

We had a lazy Saturday. It rained in the early afternoon, which put a damper on plans to work in the yard and go to the pool. I gave the boys haircuts and then we made cookies and played Ticket to Ride Jr. It was a much needed quiet day spending time together.
